This was the first time I saw this movie after hearing much about it over the years. I definitely dig the mid 70's vibe and the music and it's a trip seeing Gene Hackman look young-ish and Harrison Ford looking young...but this movie is pretty freaking boring. The ending is cool when you figure out how it all plays out, but the other 75 minutes are kind of bland.
I thought this movie was hysterical but I think Rob Corddry is hilarious in just about everything. If you liked "The State" on MTV back in the day or "Reno 911" you'll probably enjoy this movie. Gratuitous nudity never hurts either.
This movie has an eerie setting in an actual psychiatric hospital and creepy music but it doesn't really deliver on the expectation those things set. The ending is a bit of a headscratcher and you ultimately have more questions then answers. And it's never really scary at any point.
Darker and more violent then Kick-Ass, but a lot of the same. Rainn Wilson has a very odd face for showbiz but Ellen Page is sexy and the ultraviolence is surprisingly entertaining. Not a bad way to spend 90 minutes of your life.
This movie was a lot of fun and if you liked the original, you'll love the sequel. I normally loathe Channing Tatum for the most part but in this franchise he's hilarious and Jonah Hill is funny in just about everything. Great supporting cast once again and a lot of laughs.
