Inception is not just a movie with great visuals and an electrifying soundtrack, it also has a fresh story, with great characters, interesting story and surprise twists.
The story is very original and more to the point it was be of great interest to those who have a great interest in philosophy. Adding to that, the premise, while in many ways is complex, is revealed to the audience in such a way that one is not confused as to what is going on or how things work in the dream world.
The characters are the best aspect of this movie. Leonardo DiCaprio plays an excellent role here, and does so convincingly. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard's roles were also well-played and masterfully done. This is not to deny the talents of the others as well, but these five roles were done in perfection.
This movie is an excellent film and not just for it's excellent story and characters, but just like a well-planned inception, all of these movies' elements comes together to make an excellent and enjoyable movie.
Moulin Rouge! is an excellent movie for it's day and deserves more attention and praise. With a combination of excellent story-telling from three different perspectives blended into a single, coherent plot makes the unique in comparison to other love stories. This film effectively blends the real world with the fantasy world of the characters and their goals/ loves; giving the plot a new dimension.
The characters, their personalities, as well as their desires and ambitions are well written into the plot and makes it easier to understand and sympathize with them. The song and dance scene were as enjoyable as even some of the mildly over-the-top acting.
All in all, the movie is good is you focus solely on the musical elements, but excellent when viewed from the perspective of the great story-telling. One of my favorite movies of all time!
