Movie Ratings and Reviews

Man of Steel
Man of Steel (2013)

The hype was huge. It was bad. I didn't enjoy it as a summer blockbuster either. Huge illogical plot holes that my mind couldn't escape from with the last hour of fake looking CGI packed with nonsense action and ripped off Transformers 3. So did Avengers. What is the deal?

Now You See Me
½

The movie wants you to think it is complicated, like The Prestge was. But it isn't, some enjoyable scenes but unlogical, sometimes boring.

Cloud Atlas
Cloud Atlas (2012)

Seems complicated with several stories that are related spanning over centuries is simple and entertaining to watch each actor portray 6 different characters but falls short of anything "great".

Shutter Island
½

A very thought out movie. It explores the psychotic and the unexpected. Leonardo DiCaprio acts great, as usual. Martin Scorsese delivers a beautiful visual of his own imagination, again. It's not his best but definitely a movie not to be ignored. 4.5/5

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Peter Jackson made the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and they were epic and spectacular. The he made the Lovely Bones which was a disaster, lets hope he doesn't continue his streak. Guess Rating: 4.5/5

Django Unchained

Director mastermind Tarantino made Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jack Brown, Kill Bill 1 and 2, and Inglouious Basterds. Due to his past films I'm very exited for Django Unchained, especially since Tarantino casted Leonardo DiCaprio in it. My guess rating: 5/5

The Amazing Spider-Man
½

Looks good, but the other Spider-mans, 1 and 2, were great. It'll be hard to top. I am hoping for but don't know if it'll be good. Guess Rating: 3.5/5

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2

One of the best Harry Potter films. Acting is solid, plot is good, especially the love story between Snape and Harry's mom. 3.5/5

Alien
Alien (1979)

The first film in the franchise is suspenseful and jaw-dropping. During the film I was getting scared and I rarely ever do in movies. Weaver proved to be a good actor compared to her most recent movies.

Aliens
Aliens (1986)

Great sequel from James Cameron proves to be better than the original. It carries the same suspense as the first and adds the action. The movie shows us more of the universe and technology in the "alien" universe which is a plus. A mesmerizing scene when the Alien comes out of the water slowly and stares at the little girl. loved it. I also liked that they barely used special effects for the Aliens and used people in costumes. 4.5/5

Snatch
Snatch (2001)

Brad Pitt is hysterical as Mickey. Unpredictable and brilliant. 4/5

Fight Club
Fight Club (1999)

One of the most wow and best movies I have ever saw. Also had a great conclusion! Dialogue was magnificent.

Batman Returns
½

Dark and cool. Michelle Pfeiffer is sexy in leather as Catwomen.

Batman
Batman (1989)
½

Nolan's Batman films over shadow this one, but it is still good. The Joker is played great by Jack Nicholson.

Marvel's The Avengers

We have never seen anything like The Avengers before, several popular heroes packed into one movie? Sounds awesome. It is... for kids. Yes I think this movie is really good, but it's more directed to kids and can get silly at times. I think this movie is as big as it is because we have never seen anything like this. Some things in this movie made me want to role my eyes because it was unnecessary and made the movie more "kiddish". Despite that fact, the movie was excellent, the plot was intriguing enough to keep me entertained and the action was used perfectly and never got out of hand. The chemistry between the heroes worked well during the entire movie.

Prometheus
Prometheus (2012)
½

In Prometheus a group of scientists discover several of the same markings in different civilizations thousands of years apart. The scientists believe this marking is a map and invitation to come and find who they call "Engineers". The scientists believe these "Engineers" created Human Beings, this causes the Humans to go to the "Engineers" planet to find out why they were created. Later in the movie, the Humans figure out it's not the "Engineers" home planet, the "Engineers" set up a base on this planet to create WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) in case something went wrong. The Humans also figure out that the "Engineers" evacuated the planet, leaving the WMD behind. But why? The WMD is a black liquid that the humans find and obviously have problems with. The opening scene shows an "Engineer" drinking the black liquid on earth, his body dissolves and mixes with the water creating Human DNA. Later in the movie that help proves the "Engineers" created Humans is that they run a test sample on a dead "Engineer" and find out it has the exact same DNA as Humans. David (An Android) goes into the cockpit of the "Engineers" spacecraft and finds an "Engineer" still alive in hyper sleep. When the Humans awake him they want answers, so they begin asking questions, they then figure out the spacecraft is headed for earth, to destroy it. This causes the question: Why would someone who created life want to destroy it? The question is never fully answered which kind of leaves your imagination to run wild. After the movie I thought about the name "Prometheus". This is my theory: The "Engineer" in the beginning of the film created Humans by drinking that WMD, this "Engineer" stole the WMD from the base to create life instead of destruction. This is why other "Engineers" want to destroy humans, because we are a sign of rebellion. Thus calling the movie Prometheus. The Titan Prometheus created Humans from clay, and he stole fire from the gods to help the Humans along, the gods didn't like it. The "Engineer" stole the WMD technology to create Humans and the other "Engineers" did not like it. See the obvious connection? Unfortunately the questions we had from Alien aren't all answered here in Prometheus as hoped. The ship that crashed in Alien is different from the one that crashed in Prometheus, there also on a different planet. The ending of Prometheus leaves it wide open for a sequel. Alien fans will also buzz about the ending of Prometheus, an Alien comes out of the "Engineer". The Alien isn't exactly like the famous Alien we all know, but it's very similar. Perhaps an earlier version? Overall the film satisfied my hunger, and made me think alot. It was a brilliant and well done movie with a great plot that I feel alot of religious people wont like because in the movie it defies religion, but it's science-fiction, key word "fiction" people need to learn a story from reality. It's called imagination. The Cinematography along with the scenery is beautiful. The acting especially Michael Fassbender as an android named David is excellent. Noomi Rapace proves she can carry out the strong women lead as Sigourney Weaver did with Alien. Ridley Scott does it again and creates more of a world in the "Alien" universe to love. "Big things have small beginnings."

The Dark Knight

Director Christopher Nolan creates a masterpiece that destroys the preconceptions of what a superhero movie can be. The movie starts off with one of the best opening scenes ever put to film, giving us a taste of who the joker is without completely exposing his character. Batman and Gordon have been cleaning up the streets of Gotham, Batman/Bruce Wayne is also looking for someone with a "face" to take up his mantel. The new D.A. Harvey Dent is exactly what Bruce is looking for. Meanwhile, the mob is running scared, and the grotesque and psychotic Joker, in one of the best introductory scenes for a character, proposes to "kill the Batman" by humiliating the forces of good and exposing Batman's secret identity. The Dark Knight is beyond the simple tale of good vs. evil. When the Joker causes chaos in in Gotham, the citizens start calling Batman a vigilante and start to blame Batman for the deaths of police officers, who were killed by the Joker. Both characters are more than they appear to be. The Joker is more than a villain, he is an evil spirit whose actions are fiendishly designed to pose moral dilemmas for his enemies. Batman is more than a hero, he is making decisions that he believes is right, even if the citizens of Gotham hate him for it. Harvey is later changed both physically and mentally by the Joker. He proves that even someone as good as Harvey could fall so he chose the best of them. This movie creates character we come to care about, by performances, direction, an the writing. The key performance is Heath Ledger's Joker, he gives us a mesmerizing performance. Heath shows the insanity of the Joker by laughing when Batman hits him, or when Batman throws him off the top of a building. The dialogue is art at it's finest, showing us the chemistry between the characters. Something that strikes me as beautiful is Batman's cape when he is riding his Bat-pod, how it flows in the wind behind him. "Madness as you know is like gravity, all it takes is a little push." -Joker

Bruce Almighty

A funny movie, good lesson, that's really all it is.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
½

A very cheesy movie, that has a good meaning for kids.

Green Lantern

So disappointing, race car scene was so dumb. Trailer made it looks amazing, well they fooled us. Horrible superhero film. Don't waste your time. 2/5

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (AVP 2)

Worse than the first. The whole concept of an Alien-Predator is unbelievably dumb. This creature obviously takes the side of the Aliens to have a final showdown with Predator, because according to the AVP movies Alien aint much. I would call this film "Alien-Predator vs. Predator". The Aliens again are looked as dumb, and they never kill a Predator, its all the Alien-Predator. The Acting is horrible with a hot girl who makes up for it. 0.5/5

AVP - Alien Vs. Predator
½

I absolutely hate the fact that the Aliens are looked at as dumb in this film. In Aliens they cut the power and tricked the humans. I hate that Predators are looked as gods and the humans team up with the predators. The movie contradicts itself in many ways. One is when an Alien (best scene) kills 2 of the 3 predators in a matter of 5 mins. One by just stabbing him with its tale and the other with an all out fight between the two. The later the Remaining predator gets stabbed about 2 or 3 times and doesn't die. If I had made the film which I wouldn't it would barely have humans (only to birth the Aliens and it would be a war). Might as well call this film "Humans in the middle of Alien vs. Predator" 1.5/5

Alien Resurrection

Wasn't expecting much. 0.5/5

Alien3
Alien3 (1992)

Fincher's directional debut (Se7en and Fight Club) is a bore. Bad plot, acting and a very dumb change in Ripley. It seemed like she was a hooker, because she slept with a guy she just met because he hasn't seen a women in several years. Overall I was extremely disappointed, especially with the "twist" ending. oh, and what happen with the costumes? instead they used CGI most of the time 0.5/5

Monster's Ball

A movie that is nothing but depressing. Heath Ledger gave this movie heart, once he died the movie died. The last conversation between Hank and Sonny before Sonny shoots himself was mesmerizing. The story was dull, its nothing you havent seen before. Just told differently. The two leads Billy Bob Thortan and Halle Berry are hard to watch because you simply hate there characters. Hank admits to his son "Yea I hate you. Always did" causing Sonny to commit suicide. Leticia hits and citisizes her cute chubby son for being too fat. Both of the kids die and Hank and Leticia later meet. Thus making connection and "hey lets have sex." The movie is about not knowing what you have until its gone and being desperate which is all te leads really are. 2/5

Romeo + Juliet

This adaption is filled with plot wholes, bad acting by Claire Danes. This movie was laughable and hard to take serious, they were speaking lines directly from the play but it's in modern times. Why not modernize the language too? It is almost like they are speaking a foreign language. I have never liked the story of Romeo and Juliet and this movie makes me hate it all the more. Leonardo DiCaprio's start at a great career. 1/5

American Psycho

What is this? It's not a serial killer film. He doesn't kill many people up until the end. At the end you figure out he is actually crazy and has never killed anyone, and its a huge wast of time. Don't bother it has unnecessary nudity. 1/5

The Green Mile

A beautiful, emotional, mesmerizing movie. I loved the story, it was brilliant and the actors were at the top especially Hanks and Duncan. This is a movie that has heart and never loses it. It's sad and joyful. Funny and haunting. A twist at the end makes me want to cry for eternity... literally. 5/5

Along Came a Spider

A movie that tries to be brilliant but doesn't work out. 2/5

A Bug's Life
A Bug's Life (1998)

We have all seen the plot before but it is told differently. A decent movie, nothing special. Other Pixar movies are better. 3/5

Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo (2003)
½

The story of father and son is beautiful. An amazing adventure that introduces vegitarian sharks, an army of jelly fish, and hippie turtles. Marlin goes through all of this to find his only son Nemo. All the characters are great and have their own characteristics that make them unique. Some intense moments that will make you want to cry. Remember fish are friends not food! 4.5/5

Philadelphia
Philadelphia (1993)
½

Tom Hanks gives an amazing performance. Philidelphia talks about some touchy subjects like AIDS, and Homosexuality. Denzel makes a great point when he talks about when he use to think all queers wanted was to get into mens pants, which is what I think usually. It is not true, gays should be treated as equal to straight people, they aren't aliens, we are all humans. Great chemistry between Hanks and Wahington. 4.5/5

How to Train Your Dragon

The plot was fun, better than all the other Dreamworks movies. I don't like the actor Jay Baruchel who was the voice of hiccup he didn't sound at all like a viking. Some scenes I loved, like when Hiccup reaches out to touch toothless, this ignites their relationship. The movie isn't really deep but it's a different story of just a boy and his dragon. 4/5

Toy Story 3
Toy Story 3 (2010)
½

Toy Story 3 was deep but not as deep as the first to movies. Toy Story 3 continues talking about what Toy Story 2 started talking about, the meaning of a toys life. When Andy grows up the toys go to a daycare, which is kind of like an orphanage to humans, it's where toys go who no longer have owners. When they get to daycare it's more like a prison, they even have a "box" just like a prison. Again like Toy Story 2 there was not enough of Woody and Buzz together. I would love to see an adventure with the buddies together by each others side. The ending was wonderful when it showed the picture of Andy and his toys, it was very touching. When Andy pulls Woody away from Bonnie, he shows the toys he loves them but cant give them the attention they need. More sexual references add to the fun, especially the scene with Rex and Trixie on the computer. Great movie, I hope to see more of Woody and the gang. 4.5/5

Toy Story
Toy Story (1995)

Toy Story is highly entertaining for both kids and adults. It's about a toy (Buzz) who doesn't yet realize he is a toy. It is deep in the aspect of friendship. The main focus and a majority of the movie is the chemistry between Buzz and Woody. Buzz is the new toy who Woody is jealous of. It shows their friendship come closer when Buzz realizes he is a toy. It's a really good film for all ages, lots of laughs and great dialogue between Woody and Buzz. 5/5

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
½

A decent movie with a decent plot. I don't like the fact that it showed the sex scenes between the 2 main characters, they could have left them out. Other than that it was very good, I was expecting a little more coming from Fincher. Overall it's a movie to at least see once, Fincher does hold the same grotesque scenes as he did in Se7en. 3.5/5

Toy Story 2
Toy Story 2 (1999)
½

The new characters including Buster (The Dog) are great additions. I love that the old guy from Geri's Game made a cameo. Toy Story 2 is about friendship, just like the first movie, but in a different way. This one is about friends having each others back. The movie goes in depth about the meaning of a toy's life. Great dialogue like the first, only problem I had was Buzz and Woody didn't have enough screen time together like in the first. I love the star wars reference with Zurg being Buzz's dad. I have to say the Toy Story version is better. I absolutely love the sexual reference with Buzz, it's Hilarious. 4.5/5

The movie serves no justice. It's the same as the first film, just a different environment. It does serve minnumum laughs but overall is a bore and doesn't work. There is several other ways you could do this film, with a different plot. Make it on a holiday? maybe have them search for something other than a missing person? maybe eliminate the the Chinese man? The Waterboy (1998)

Not funny, just retarded. .5/5

Happy Gilmore

Same character as Billy Madison, different name. 1/5

Billy Madison

The movie does what it was supposed to, make us laugh. Beyond that its dumb, and not enjoyable. 1/5

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Terrible. Again like expected, Lautner took off his shirt. .5/5

Twilight
Twilight (2008)

One of the worst movies ever, the books may be good, but the movies are awful. Bad film making, Dialogue, acting, and special effects. Chemistry is terrible. Taylor Lautner needs to get a new job instead of getting paid to take his shirt off. .5/5

WALL-E
WALL-E (2008)

It may get boring to some kids, for adults it shows us what us humans can do to our world in the far future. 3/5

Over the Hedge
½

We see sequels to the popular Dreamworks Animated features, like Shrek, Madagascar, and Kung Fu Panda. Apparently the first Shrek is the only movie better than Over the Hedge. Why don't we see a sequel? 3.5/5

Monsters vs. Aliens
½

Bob is what makes this movie funny, Seth Rogen is hilarious even when he is in a kids movies. Unfortunately that's the movies only saving point is Bob. 2.5/5

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
½

Why call it Madagascar when it takes place in Africa? Anyway... does not feel the same as the first, stick with the first one. 1.5/5

Madagascar
Madagascar (2005)
½

Funny, but overshadowed by other Dreamworks movies. 2.5/5

Kung Fu Panda

For an animated film it was enjoyable, but it doesn't live up to it's competitors like Finding Nemo, Toy Story, or Shrek. Funny, but the movie was short, and to simple. Funny though. 3/5

Watchmen
Watchmen (2009)

Visually stunning. An amazing plot, with great acting. Comic like fighting scenes were amazing, can't say how close it was to the graphic novel. 4/5

The Incredible Hulk
½

To much action, that is what the film is relied on. It is a better installment than the other version. 2.5/5

Captain America: The First Avenger

Felt to dumb to be good. Red Skull looked terrible. The Story wasn't bad, it was almost sad at the end when Captain woke up in modern times without his love. 3/5

Thor
Thor (2011)

An okay superhero film. Kind of lost itself a little bit while Thor was on earth. 3/5

Iron Man 2
Iron Man 2 (2010)

Definitely not as good as the first film but that doesn't make it terrible. It is very cool, with the addition of war machine. Kind of disappointing in the defeat of the villain, happened to fast. 4/5

Iron Man
Iron Man (2008)
½

Great Superhero movie. It's epic, cool, funny, and spectacular. Jeff Bridges pleases as the bad guy, Robert Downy Jr. is hilarious as Stark. 4.5/5

Spider-Man
Spider-Man (2002)
½

A great superhero film. Tobey Maguire is nerdy and cool as the friendly neighborhood Spiderman. 3.5/5

X-Men: First Class
½

Finally the Xmen movies come back, a great film that explores the history of Professor X and Magneto. Funny cameo by Wolverine. 3.5/5

X-Men Origins - Wolverine

Better than Xmen: The last stand, but that isn't saying much. Dead pool... yea, not dead pool. 2/5

X-Men: The Last Stand
½

Movie relies on the action, the plot is dull. The characters seem bored. 1.5/5

X2: X-Men United
½

Better than the first. The plot is amazing, with a memorable fight scene between wolverine and Lady deathstrike. 3.5/5

X-Men
X-Men (2000)

Good superhero film, Hugh Jackman is the ideal actor for wolverine. Plot doesn't lack, acting is decent. 3/5

Spider-Man 3
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
½

Seriously? Looked great, especially with the success of the other two. It's boring and loses itself somewhere in plot. 2.5/5

Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man 2 (2004)
½

Better than the first, great acting, plot and villain. 3.5/5

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1

David Yates is doing the series some justice, wished he did the entire series. 3/5

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
½

Great Harry Potter film, a step up from the others. Good acting, what the others seemed to lack. 3.5/5

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
½

Still a little dull, a good plot, but I guess not to my liking. 2/5

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
½

Decent film, lacks from the 3rd Harry Potter, lets hope it gets better. 2.5/5

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

I better route for Harry Potter, changing the director. I like the plot but the acting is still dull. 3/5

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
½

Equally as dumb as the first and the acting is dreadful. Enough has been said. 1.5/5

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
½

Something's in this film dont make sense. Maybe the book explained it better. But Columbus isn't a great director, let's face it. Its a boring movie that has wizards that use magic, maybe an enjoy to the kids. 1.5/5

Cars 2
Cars 2 (2011)

Pixar goes flat for the first time. Kids may find it enjoying but for us teens and adults, lets stick to Finding Nemo, Toy Story trilogy, and the first cars. 2/5

Cars
Cars (2006)
½

Funny and loving, great for kids. 3.5/5

Shrek 2
Shrek 2 (2004)

Not as funny or good as the original but almost there. Puss in Boots is a great addition. 3/5

Shrek
Shrek (2001)
½

Hysterical and great voice acting. Eddie Murphy should stay in animated movies other than live action. 3.5/5

True Grit
True Grit (2010)
½

Terrible acting by the lead Hailee Steinfeild, she can't carry out a movie. After seeing a good movie like No Country For Old Men by the Coen brothers and then seeing this was a huge disappointment. 1.5/5

One Hour Photo

Fine Performance by Williams, unfortunately it's to creepy to like. 2/5

3:10 to Yuma
3:10 to Yuma (2007)
½

Definitely a cool western. Bale and Crowe work well together all the way till the end. It was epic in scenes and very memorable dialogue. "It's mans nature to take what he wants. It's how were born." 3.5/5

Revolutionary Road

An interesting story, It didn't go at all like I wanted it too. (Spoiler) It's kind of ironic, Leonardo died in the first movie they were in together, and now Kate dies. I loved when Leonardo confesses being with another women to his wife, it showed his love toward her. 3/5

Shrek Forever After

When I thought Shrek couldn't get any worse than the third, well I was wrong. 1/5

Shrek the Third
½

Flat. Boring. Crap, Do I have to say anymore? 1.5/5

Inception
Inception (2010)

The script was worked on for 10 years, Nolan wanted to make this film from the start but wanted more experience in movie making until then. Let's just say this movie is a masterpeice. It has everything, a very deep plot, spectacular acting, and movie making at its finest. The plot is very complicated but you have to be willing to expand your mind to understand. Nolan proves himself worthy of being one of the best Directors in film. The Score by Hans Zimmer was beautiful. 5/5

Pulp Fiction
Pulp Fiction (1994)

A great film. Tarantino adds so much detail that most people wont even catch. It's so fascinating. I am glad to say that travolta acted terrific and Samuel l Jackson gave one of his best performances. The acting is at the top, as well as the plot. Magnificent dialouge drifts the movie perfectly. The conversations are laugh out loud funny. Tarantino knows how to direct a film, write a story, and be funny and serious at the exact same time. 5/5

The Departed
The Departed (2006)

A movie where the suspense grabs at you and doesn't let you go. It's a crazy ride, 2 different types of informers trying to find each others identity. It's just brilliant, and mind twisting., as it gets deeper and deeper into them finding each other. The end is probably one of the best endings ever put to film. The actors give their all and the acting was excellent. Everything behind this film was just completely brilliant. A mind blower at its best! 5/5

Inglourious Basterds

Quentin Tarantino does it again and gives us dialogue to satisfy us, make us laugh, and for us to repeat. Brad Pitt to me gave an excellent performance as Lt. Aldo Raine. "You know somethin', Utivich? I think this just might be my masterpiece." 5/5

Batman Begins

Explores the origin of the caped crusader, and does it perfectly in this film where all the cast is excellent. Bale proves to be the best Bat to date and adds heart to the character which the other Batman's seemed to lacked. Nolan does it again and doesn't disappoint. This movie was different in all the good ways from every other superhero movie. A must see. 5/5

Saving Private Ryan

Tom Hanks pleases again. Steven Spielberg does an amazing job at glamorizing war. The battle scenes are very spectacular and almost feels real. One of the best battle scenes in film history. Omaha Beach, D-Day. 5/5

Seven (Se7en)

After seeing se7en I was blown away, it was mesmerizing and grotesque. I was very sad with the ending but I would admit I would do the same thing. It was very good at building tension and being suspenseful. The crime scenes were sick and made complete sense with the deadly sin it was supposed to be associated with. The dialogue was terrific with funny lines everytime detective somerset and detective mills talked to one another. A great step up from Alien 3 from director David Fincher. A must see. Be cautious to watch with a tight christian or someone who throws up for seeing something gruesome. 5/5

The Shawshank Redemption

A stunning film, a great achievement from Frank Darabont for being his debut film. It's rare to see a Director come out a make an amazing film. (Spoiler) When the Old man Brooks kills himself, it's so sad. A very memorable scene. 5/5

Forrest Gump
Forrest Gump (2014)

Tom Hanks gives his best performance, it's the one he will be remembered for the most. He plays a loving and caring man who is a little slow, but his heart grows rapidly. He acts like there isn't a thing of sadness or doubt in the world, he is positive and always has amazing quotes. It was a very great story all around. Applause for the Director Robert Zemeckis. 5/5

Catch Me If You Can

Leonardo and Hanks deliver in this comedy of a man who steals millions of dollars in check fraud. It's an amazing story, the relationship between the detective and criminal is remarkable. 5/5

500 Days of Summer

A heartwarming and loving film. I love the music by Regina Spektor. Zooey Deschanel became my celebrity crush after seeing her in this film. Joseph was unbelievebly funny and pored his heart out to a girl who just wanted a fun relationship. The ending was amazing. The comedy was non stop laughs. The heart this film had was touching. Great film hands down! 5/5

The Prestige
The Prestige (2006)
½

A great film with a great and powerful performance by Christian Bale. One of his best in my opinion. Very emotional with the side plot line of the love story between Alfred Borden and Sarah. Amazing twist ending. 4.5/5

Memento
Memento (2000)
½

A film that is complicated yet so jaw dropping. It was a very well crafted film, Nolan does what he does best, he creates a mesmerizing story and puts it into film as a spectacular acheivement. Guy Pearce gives his finest performance as the revenge wanting mentally handicapped man. Very heartwarming in it's own way as well as thought out. Give credIt to his brother johnathon for writing the short story which Chris adapted the film from. 4.5/5

Casino Royale
½

Daniel Craig shows us he is the best Bond. He played the role so great. The action was spectacular, Madagascar scene in particular. Eva Green is the Bond girl, Vesper and is an eye pleaser. 4.5/5

Cast Away
Cast Away (2000)
½

A fine performance by Hanks. Very emotional, especially near the end. It shows us that we should take pride in what we have food, technology, and each other. 4.5/5

Warrior
Warrior (2011)
½

One of the best fighting movies I have seen, it's not all about the fighting though it's emotional. A story of a family broken apart because of family issues, they come together and it's sad and joyful at the same time. Unbelievable fight scenes. 4.5/5

Reservoir Dogs
½

A wonderful Director makes his debut movie sensational. It's definitely not his best but a great way to start out. The conversation in the opening scene is a delight to listen to. 4.5/5

The Hunger Games

Book was better, I felt if I hadn't read the book then I wouldn't of understand led some aspects in the movie. The camera work was floppy and very unimpressive. The acting was okay, seemed like scenes were rushed quite a bit. Ending with Seneca crane was really great. Stick to the book, it's just another teen series being adapted into film to make money.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon
½

Action again in a third attempt (after Bay and cast admit the last film was a disaster and they will improve on their next film) proves to be better then the second (not saying much) but still worse than the first and a huge movie with robots fighting and bad acting. I hate the audience rating on rotten tomatoes. People pay attention to the film and not the action, this film is filled with plot holes as was the second. Rumors on a fourth installment, let's hope not.

Transformers
Transformers (2007)
½

The action is awesome. But that is not all what movies are about. the plot is decent nothing spectacular. The acting is decent from Shia but terrible from the surrounding cast members including fox. Kids will definitely enjoy it, adults shouldn't like it if they pay attention to the film itself and not just the acting. Of course there will be the people who will fight and lose defending that the film is good. It's from director Michael bay, so what do you expect?

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Looking at the audience review on rotten tomatoes, a 76%. Wow, you know that a majority of people in the world only care about action. The acting worsened from the first, the action got boring, the plot was uninteresting, and the humans are ahead of the show, even though the movie is called "Transformers" let's face it the movie stinks and the action is again presented by Bay with nothing else focused on.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

This film was visually stunning, the plot was wonderful, and the acting was unimpressive by the Hobbits and sometimes Gandalf. But pass the acting the movie was magnificent, I wouldn't say it is the best movie of all time but it is probably close. Seeing all of the characters together before they separate at the end is wonderful. Though there was no lead women character, which to me was disappointing, the movie was still magnificent.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

One thing of the Two Towers I didn't like was there was three main stories it kept switching from. They were all good, but it would be nice if it showed one story all the way through, then the other, then the other. That is just me though. Other then that everything was good, the acting especially from Gandalf improved. The ending "Gollum's plan" was a great closing along with the song "Gollum's Song" I liked in the first one when they were all together instead of separate. The battle for Helm's deep was magnificent.

The Lake House

Keanu Reeves can't act in any movie. Definitely not in this movie. Sandra Bullock isnt that great either. Put them together and you get a dull romantic movie that tried to be intelligent. I guess the ending so easy. I have to say that when Keanu planted the tree and it magically appeared in Sandra Bullocks time was false because fate should have known he would of put it there, therefore the tree would have been there in her time. Just like the paws, it was in her time and not in his, fate knew it would happen. Kinda dumb.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
½

I highly anticipated watching this film because I loved the first 2 and it won 11 academy awards. After watching I was blown away it was a great film the acting went from not that great to really great. The 2 plots were different but both as entertaining. Not much of Legolas (My favorite character) but thats okay, he still took down an elephant. But it only counted as one as Gimli says. If I could rate the LOTR trilogy as one big movie I would rate it a full 5/5.

Jackie Brown
Jackie Brown (1997)

The movie was not a masterpeice like some of his other films (Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds) but it isn't bad. It is different from Tarantino's style, but still has very catchy dialouge. I will say I don't like Pam Grier, shes annoying, but the plot, and Samuel L. Jackson's performece makes the movie all the better. "AK-47. The very best there is. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherf@#!% in the room, accept no substitutes."

The Lovely Bones

I just read the Lovely Bones and I was exited to watch the movie because the book is great and the movie is directed by Peter Jackson. I watched it and I was extremely dissapointed. First of all Saoirse Ronan and Susan Sarandon are highly annoying. Their voices and their acting. Jackson left out the 3 greatest parts in the book. When Susie dances with her grandpa in heaven, Samuel proposes to lindsey in the old abandoned house while it down poors, and when Len gives Susie's father the charm. They left out alot of great things that were in the book. Lets hope he doesnt fail with highly anticipated The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
