Today 11/9/14,I woke up with a headache. Last night,I went to see Interstellar. Coincidence? I don't think so! Sure this takes a bit to get in to and it's lengthy, but it's a visual marvel and stunning to watch.
I feel like this is Nolan's most ambitious, accomplished and complex movie to date. Dealing with the theory of relativity, wormholes, time and space continuum and event horizons. Matthew McConaughey and Jessica Chastain were the stand outs among the cast, which had a lot more cameos than I was aware of. Can't forget Hans Zimmer's amazing score and Hoyt Van Hoytema's incredible cinematography.
Ever since Zodiac,Jake Gyllenhaal can do no wrong. With Nightcrawler he channels his inner Travis Bickle. Completely mesmerizing and paranoid. While this isn't his best movie, personally it's a toss up between Zodiac and End of Watch for me,this is arguably his best role to date.
Through the seedy streets of downtown Los Angeles and desperate for work,Lou Bloom gets a camera and a police scanner and begins to film crime scenes to sell to the local news station. This is an insanely wild ride and definitely one of the years best movies.
