I found the film emotionally disturbing. The performance of Grethchen Lodge is beyond amazing. The acting of this woman alone saves the material and makes the material disturbing and hard to watch. The pain and torment the character has had to endure is captured wonderfully in her acting.
Unfortunately the clunky directing and the actions of the characters that make no sense holds this movie back from true greatness. This woman obviously needed some serious help (with or without a ghost involved) but the loved ones seem to do everything to avoid getting her the help she needs. One two second scene of the sister debating on calling 911 (she doesn't) is all we are given. Her husband after being brutally attacked by his strung out wife decides to have a tryst with the neighbor instead of seeking help for his mentally, emotionally disturbed and heroin addicted wife.
Even with the obvious flaws I gave the movie three and a half stars. The acting of the lead character was amazing and kept me spellbound and emotionally vested to a movie that would otherwise be laughable. I recommend for this performance alone.
