Epic disaster movie. Didn't feel the need to be funny or give you a hug, just balls to the wall drama. I don't understand all the talk about it being "dull" - not once did I look at my watch. It just kept going with it's impending sense of doom, exactly as any good disaster movie should.
Solid spy thriller. Given it wasn't based on a book, it did a good job of sticking to the characters from the series, and Branagh in particular was a very good bad guy. It's a bit "by the numbers" at times, but if you want a well paced fun thriller, this is it.
It tries to get far too much into far too short a movie, and ends up feeling like a TV pilot that already knew it wouldn't get picked up. It's fun in places, and the mini West Wing reunion is nice, but overall just doesn't quite hang together.
