    White House Down (2013)

White House Down became a flop mostly due to it's more than necessary enormous budget and lack of efficient promotion. In my opinion White House Down is a watchable action fare, mostly due to it's male leads, their acting and due to the cliches in the movie that are well worn so that they seem to be different from the usual ones at least for some moment. White House Down has a lot of poor special effects, quite embarrassing when compared with its budget. The reason why that happened is so clear actually from the film itself, this film actually uses a White House which is completely a set made one and they almost use special effects for everything instead of real action, which in turn gives every explosion and stuff like that an unrealistic look. This is not the best film of Roland Emmerich. He made better films like The Day After Tomorrow(2004) and his best one, The Patriot(2000), also a few guilty pleasures like Independence Day(1996) and 2012 and 10000 B.C (2008). As far as Channing Tatum is concerned, his acting has been a bit better in the recent times and he is definitely better than other similar actors like Robert Pattinson and Ashton Kutcher. Emmerich creates moments of tension, but fails to carry it on, which is a big problem with this film.
