    From Dusk Till Dawn

    From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)

An immensely enjoyable crime thriller/trashy horror crossover with entertaining dialogue and lively characters. It features George Clooney's first great performance, Cheech Marin in three different roles, and Tarantino's snappy script. The vampires, once they show up, trigger Rodriguez's flashy camerawork and it is put to good use. The first half of the film is all buildup to the mayhem that occurs the rest of the way through. Harvey Keitel is the dramatic anchor for the film and his character is rooted in realism. He keeps his cool even as the chaos kicks in. When it does, bodies are torn apart and people are sent flying, vampires melt and burn. The excitement level is kept on high throughout, as well as the action and style.
