The acting isn't too bad here, but the writers seem to have no comprehension on the issue there dealing with, and its almost impossible to sympathize or relate with stupid snobs for main characters.
The other 4 of 5 short films in VHS never reach the high quality tension of its opening segment, but the film is still entertaining, occasionally scary, but mostly uneven.
Forrest Gump easily overcomes its more sentimental and heavy handed moments through its heart warming story, entertainment value and above all Tom Hanks' wonderful performance.
The Skin I Live In is a bizarre, exceptionally shot & acted film that finds a surprising amount of emotional depth in its strange, twisty story.
Short Term 12 treats its subject with intelligence and sincerity, and gives a startlingly realistic look into abused peoples lives, and is topped off with a fine script and some fantastic performances.
