    Annie

    Annie (1982)

    Grade: A+

Annie is a delightful musical, which doesnt deserve its bad rating. Annie is my favourite musical of all time. The songs are catchy and the performances are memorable and genuine. Aileen Quinn is a true star and adds so much charism and energy to her role as Annie. For those who are not familiar with Annie, the film is about a 10-year-old orphan girl Annie, who lives in a horrible orphanage for girls run by the cruel and deranged Miss Hannigan (Carol Burnette). Annie gets given the opportunity to spend the week at the home of hard-hearted billionaire Oliver Warbucks (Albert Finney). I think that the film is so charming and bright, it immediately warms your heart and cheers you up. I think the Carol Burnette is a hit in this film and gives a entertaining and fantastic performance as Miss Hannigan; she definitely has to be one of the best all time musical villains; she should have gotten an award for her portrayal as Miss Hannigan. I thought Tim Curry also put on a terrific performance as Rooster. This film had great acting, even the kids were really good. This film is jolly, heartwarming and unforgettable. One of my favourite childhood films of all time.
