Absurd? Of course. A consistent ride throughout the entire film -- surprisingly yes. I think I could have done without the grand immigration plot line but overall the execution of a pretty mindless distraction was good enough to say it was worthwhile time spent watching it.
Confusing timelines on a found footage piece that I am surprised gets high ratings from a lot of people. Sure space is a dangerous place but I find it crazy that the first time humans reach past the moon would spend of that time to get to the destination then massively frak everything up over a very short amount of time and then reroute and override the problem that cut them off from Earth at the last few seconds. Ugh... I can get a better ride at Six Flags.
Possibly better than the first one -- though I have trouble remembering the details of the first one for a good comparison. (Obviously that does not say much for the quality bar of the series thus far) Anyway, very interesting twist on the 'I see dead people' story line. The zombie story was interesting but I wanted something more out of the main stream. The cult story was okay. The alien story was pretty much pointless...and I gave this three stars? I guess in the end the scare factor was still good enough to not make this a waste of time!
