Any love for Mario Paint?

I for one spent many a hour playing that fly swatter game. I wasn't too musically inclined at the time, still aren't, but I did enjoy throwing those Yoshi noises around

I actually bought a Snes with Mario Paint and the mouse. Then I took it the whole thing back. I thought it was really cool, but I...I don't know what happened. I was a teenager with lots of raging hormones. I don't know why I did anything back then.

Hmmm, now I'm interested. Hypercard was good stuff. Great way to learn programming, too.

Intersting fact: the creators of Homestar Runner started it all with Mario Paint.

wow that is an interesting fact haha. where did you learn that?

they were better than AvP, too.

They came to the University of Saskatchewan campus for a presentation at the campus pub. I wasn't able to go because tickets sold out pretty quickly but I read the recap in the University Paper.

Not entirerly true. HSR started as a kids book made during the '96 Olympics, about the Strongest Man in the World competition. I think they made a second one, too... but uh... can't remember.

But yeah, the first Homestar animation was done in Mario Paint. They recently did a new animation with Mario Paint, too.

If you click on the HSR icon on the top left of the menu screens, it'll take you to the museum. You can find the old books and Mario Paint animations (as well as some really bad early toons and games...) in there. The newer Paint animation is Strong Bad is Bad Guy under Shorts.

...I know way too much about this.

I used to love Mario paint. I hope that they make a Mario Paint for Revolution. If they do then sign me up.

I remember previews for the Mario Paint for the N64 Disk Drive years ago that let you make little 3D models and stuff - did that ever come out in Japan?

Anyway, Mario Paint was great, with the only issue being the lack of the ability to save more than one project at a time. I even had the players guide, that had all kinds of cool tricks and ideas I never would've thought of without it, and a ton of cool projects you can just copy and mess around with - it's probably Nintendo's most "worth it" guide they've ever made.

(Y) the players guide I also got. It was the only guide I've ever purchased. It was SO worth it.

Heh, I'm looking at it right now. Maybe I'll do this little Santa Claus themed project they got here for the holidays and set it as a backdrop when my friends come over for maximum old skool geekery.
