Our Town. Oliver's House. My Yard.

I thought that the 1940 version of Our Town was more creative, because the writers were able to get the story across without using props. Since there was no implied value on objects, they may have been trying to express how materialistic people have become and how we take everyday things for granted. The video also showed a very plain backdrop, focusing better on the conversation and relation between the actors. This version allowed some imagination to come into play from the viewer’s standpoint. The 1977 version, on the other hand, used props and color to better visualize each scene and what was going on throughout the story. I didn’t enjoy either style of the films and I would have rather just read the play.
