Browsing through my new "Top Ten of Everything - 2004" book I see that, coming in at number 8 in the Top 10 Films in Japan", there is an animated film called Kindaichi shônen no jikenbo (The Case Book of Young Kindaichi). I don't recall having heard of this one and I can't seem to find too much information on it.

Can anyone tell me anything about this film? Imdb seems to indicate that it was a TV series.

Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo

"Kindaichi Hajime isn't quite your typical high school student. Barely passing his classes you'd think he was quickly on his way to going nowhere in the world. So how is it that Nanase Miyuki, an honours student can stand such a lazy guy, let alone refuse to date other boys because of him? However, Kindaichi isn't quite your typical drop-out.
