Attack of the Show!

Anyone catch the new update of the screen savers? It's basically the same thing with a new set and design, but it looks as if they put more money into the show as a whole. Good stuff. I may just watch it every night now.

http://www.g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/..._Big_Fish.html

Gotta love the giant NES controller they made.

Quote:
Yep, we took apart your standard, everyday NES controller and spawned a giant, mutant NES controller that works. It’s 8’ long x 3’ wide x 9” tall and cost about $400 to put together. It’s not a very difficult project to undertake. Of course, it certainly helps to have an art staff make it look like a NES controller.
It was funny as hell as they played SMB with it. One guy on the D-pad, the other on the A and B buttons. They were screaming at each other, it was classic!

They showed the new Lego star wars game also and bunch of other stuff, plus they have live music, well that isn't new, but they had reel big fish, so they're off to a good start.

oh, and I don't want to hear how you guys hate the hosts, that is so tired. Just give it a chance, it's very entertaining.

Well at least the name of the show suits it now. This is a horrible show that should be feared and avoided by all means necessary. They were just mocking a once great television program by calling themselves "The Screensavers."

I miss the days of TechTV. G4TV has gone down the ****ter ever since the merge. The only shows I watch on there now are X-Play and Call for Help (the odd time). I just can't believe how craptastic the station has become.

I don't know how you even watch X-Play. Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb are the two biggest douchebags in all of human history. everytime I see them on my TV i just can't stop muttering "die, die, die."

im not an avid watcher of X-Play but i will admit i get a laugh or two the odd time i watch it. I don't take them serious enough to go by their reviews, but from all the other stuff shown on G4 i'd say X-Play is the least lame show. Which i guess really isnt saying much at all.

I wasn't talking about the screen savers, though, so that's a loophole.

Give what a chance? Attack of the Show? It's the Screensavers with a new name and set, that's it, and the hosts are bad, they are terrible. They don't provide viewers with useful information on technology anymore, they just talk about random crap just like G4.Com.

The old Tech TV hosts, Pat and Leo actually provided information on every episode and it was useful. They didn't chit chat about random news nobody cares about, they talked about technology and that was it.

The last shovel load of dirt should be put on top of this whole thing.

TechTV was a great thing...and Screensavers was something different done by people who were just having a good time, not unlike hanging with some geeky buddies of yours in the cellar talking computers and playing games and stuff. It was the unpolished nature of it that made it so good.

R.I.P. TechTV, Screensavers and Call for Help.

Yeah, well said.

* wishes he'd recorded every episode made...even out of date it's better than most things on TV right now *

The show is retarded... I don't care if you don't want to hear it, but the new hosts ARE DUMB AS HELL.

I guess I wouldn't care, except that the show used to be awesome, now it's just like this forum.

{edit} I still watch it, but I feel dirty for doing so. Kevin Rose is still good, but you can see in his eyes that he feels like the whore that he is.

Maybe they should add a bonus for getting 10 kills. Maybe even the chance to call in an Amrod. I could see him now rapelling from the chopper, "Oh **** they've got an Amrod!"

“Excitebots” presents racing at the most absurd level I’ve seen in games.

Thats about right. I can't see how they get so good of ratings when all they do is make horrible attempts at humor.

Kevin Rose is ok it that other Kevin that really bugs me. I wish they wouldjust cancel it already once they got rid of leo the entire show just went downhill. Attack of the show may be bad but it is still not as terrible as the rest of the crap on that station like Electric Playground or Sweat or Cheat. What I don't understand is why in the hell they cancelled call for help when they have that stupid *** robot wars still on. Where is the justice; Boo G4 I want my Techtv back.

My first impression of the show was their shoving a tiny server up somebody's bung-hole and running a web site off of it. Is this what we've lowered ourselves to?

And we wonder why video game nerds like myself get such a bad rap all the time...

I watched some today. Not that bad, don't see that many differences from the screen savers. The half life 2 thing they had on was fairly interesting. I may watch in the FUTURE.
