Don Vito collapes, yells "Kill me Now, after guilty verdict

DENVER – A jury on Wednesday found Vincent Margera, who plays "Don Vito" on MTV's "Viva La Bam" guilty of two counts of sexual assault on a child and acquitted him on one count.

Margera was accused of fondling three girls during a public appearance at a mall in the Denver suburb of Lakewood. The victims he was convicted of sexually assaulting were 12 and 13 years old.

He is set to be sentenced on December 20.

After the verdict was read he collapsed onto the floor and yelled "just kill me now."

Pam Russell of the Jefferson County District Attorney's office says the way Margera fell caused him to push some of the court's furniture around.

"He fell hard enough, that everyone - court security, deputies - rushed over to see, to make sure he was alright, cause they weren't certain if he fainted, they wanted to check on his safety," said Russell. "Then he began to flail, move his arms and legs and yell statements, just in general to the court, that sort of thing, about his guilt or innocence . . . angry statements, including some expletives."

Russell says Margera made some statements about not being able to feel his feet or move, so medical services were called.

"That again caused him to make some loud statements, as if he was aware what was going on in the courtroom to some degree, said Russell. "Then the judge quickly pulled the jurors, tried to get them out of the courtroom, because this had not stopped at this point, it was still escalating. Mr. Margera was still agitated, yelling and moving around, the deputies continuing to trying to stop him."

A wheelchair was brought up to the courtroom, but it was not needed. Jefferson County deputies restrained Margera and then took him to jail, escorting him from the courtroom.

The two counts Margera was convicted of were class four felonies, each carrying a possible prison sentence of 2 to 6 years and up to life-time supervision.

Margera will also have to register as a sex offender where he lives and undergo sex offender treatment.

He also faces 12 felony counts for allegedly violating his bail conditions. Those conditions included having no contact with children under 18, consuming no drugs or alcohol and providing detailed information on business travel plans.

Defense attorney Pamela Mackey had said Margera was in character during the public appearance, playing the outrageous uncle from the TV show.

I think his sentencing should just have Bam do that "run in room in the middle of the night and beat the living **** out of him" thing that Bam used to do to his father. Every night for the rest of his life.

I saw this over on MTV.com a little bit ago. The article over there said that he also soiled his pants and was autographing pictures and stuff in dirty undies in addition to groping 12 year old girls.

I really hope that if we're ever bombed, the first one falls right on the Margera family.

Agreed. Bam might be the most annoying, obnoxious, unfunny human being I have ever seen in my life.

I went to school in the philadelphia area when he was at the height of his popularity, I heard of two stories where aquaintances of mine sucker punched him, though a sucker punch is a cowardly move I feel that because of who the victim is it is not so bad

I totally forgot about that. I wonder why he was not heavily featured in it. The only part I really remember him being in was the bit with the snakes.

He was in it quite a bit...but it seemed like they were pulling his arm to do a bunch of the stuff. It's like exposure from having his own TV show made him prissy or something.

Most of what happened looked exaggeration for effect. Bam crying over a snake looking like something he wanted the people to see to make for a better movie. Most of the movie looked like that. Like when they get hurt, a lot of it didn't look like it hurt as bad as they were making it (to sell the scene).

And ever scene he did made him look like a *****.

I loved the CKY stuff, but now that gang got super rich, they became even more obnoxious, and less funny.

Is the next MTV show going to be "Don Vito's Prisonbreak"

I was talking more about taking falls, or Bam's overacting when with that snake. The crew clearly exaggerated for the camera, as evident by them taking slightly hard bumps (fire hose the most obvious example, as well as unicycle) and going on too long with the "injury." Some looked like it really did hurt, yes, like the rubber balls. Some, however, like the hotel hall fan sign and everyone going right into it to read, well... it was obvious.

When Bam was on Howard Stern some time ago, he said that all of don vito footage had to be taken out of the movie because MTV didn't want to show anything until the court proceedings cleared up. He also downplayed the incident and said that the groping was a misunderstanding and that he accidentally knocked one of the girls' boob with the back of his hand, or something like that.

The CKY videos were occasionally hillarious. The Jackass movies were only mildly amusing. I didn't see any video of Don Vito commiting felony sexual assault of a minor, so I can't really comment as to it's level of humor.

That whole family are a bunch of nuckle dragging dim wits - even the mother. No sympathy for any of them and I don't really care. Let them all go to jail.

I'm surprised his dad didn't slaughter him when he set off the fireworks in his bedroom and his van.

I have no idea what this show is and am really puzzled as to how this moron could actually fondle a kid as part of a public appearance.

Here is a bit about the story from the Philadelphia Inquirer:

"Three witnesses testified that they had seen Margera touching the girls inappropriately, but the defense said Margera had been in character at the event. Prosecutor Jim Stanley countered that Margera was "so intoxicated that he peed his pants while with these children.""
