American actor John Fiedler did his first professional work in his native Wisconsin. Fiedler's many Broadway appearances included the 1960 play A Raisin in the Sun, in which he was the only Caucasian in a virtually all-black cast. His first film role was as the supplicative Juror No. 2 in Twelve Angry Men (1957). Fiedler's stock in trade was the meek-looking soul who compensated for his demeanor with a nasty temper or sadistic streak. In this capacity, he was often seen as vindictive school principals, obstreperous civil servants or combative psychiatric patients (vide TV's The Bob Newhart Show). Incredibly prolific in films and on television, John Fiedler's best-known role was Vinnie, Oscar Madison's card-playing crony in both the stage and screen versions of Neil Simon's The Odd Couple.

QUOTES FROM John Fiedler CHARACTERS

Juror #2 says: You said we could throw out all the other evidence!

Juror #2 says: jumping like a ping pong ball

Juror #2 says: Jumping like a ping pong ball.

Piglet says: Trespassers Will. That stands for Trespassers William.

Narrator says: "Trespassers William"?

Narrator says: Trespassers William?

Piglet says: Yes.

Juror #8 says: Your a sadist.

Juror #8 says: Ever since you walked into this room, you've been acting like a self-appointed public avenger! You want to see this boy die because you personally want it, not because of the facts! You're a sadist! [Three lunges wildly at Eight, who holds his ground. Several jurors hold Three back]

Juror #2 says: I'll kill you.

Juror #3 says: I'll kill him! I'LL KILL HIM!

Juror #8 says: Would you really do that?

Juror #8 says: You don't *really* mean you'll kill me, do you?

Juror #2 says: It's hard to put into words. I just think he's guilty. I thought it was obvious from the word, 'Go'. Nobody proved otherwise.

Juror #8 says: Nobody has to prove otherwise. The burden of proof is on the prosecution. The defendant doesn't even have to open his mouth. That's in the Constitution.
