Onscreen performer Matthew Thompson gravitated to acting as a youngster, with extensive work in public service announcements (PSAs), commercials, and industrial films. He subsequently attended Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, FL (where he studied theater, dance, and music), and formally entered mainstream show business courtesy of the Nickelodeon cable network, appearing on its popular series All That, and Home Box Office, with a role in the telemovie First Time Felon. Thompson then enrolled in Southern Methodist University and earned his BFA in theater studies. He relocated to Los Angeles after graduation and accepted roles in film, including Gangsta Rap: The Glockumentary, Pirate Camp, and 3:15, capped off with a key supporting role in the GLBT-themed feature drama Tru Loved (2007).
