Her grandmother was a longtime dance instructor; and her mom, who's also a dance instructor, starred as Bebe in the first touring production of A Chorus Line. Her dad, Ric Porter, belonged to the popular 1970s Worcester, MA., jam band Zonkaraz and the late '70s-early '80s Boston-based new-wave act the Shades. Appeared in her first TV commercial (for United Airlines) at age 3. Became a five-time junior vocalist champion on Star Search at age 5. Landed the role of Li'l Punkin on Pee-wee's Playhouse despite auditioning with a 102-degree fever. Appeared in the short-lived 2004 Ten Commandments musical in L.A. with a pre-American Idol Adam Lambert. They've been friends ever since, and wrote the song "Aftermath" (from his 2009 album For Your Entertainment) together with Ferras and Ely Rise. Starred as Bebe in the 2006 A Chorus Line revival on Broadway—the same role her mother played three decades before. Has performed and recorded with her bands the Raz and Alisan Porter Project; and with the collaborative group Canyons, which was spearheaded by Randy Jackson. Won season 10 of The Voice.
