Tall, dark-haired silent film actor Allan Forrest made his screen debut with the American Film Company in 1913 after stock company work in Cleveland, OH, and Baltimore, MD. Handsome in a conventional way and often sporting a dapper mustache, the Brooklyn-born actor became a favorite leading man for Mary Pickford imitator Mary Miles Minter, with whom he co-starred in no less than 20 films between 1916 and 1922. He became leading man for the real Mary Pickford as well, in Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall (1924), a reward, perhaps, for having married the star's alcoholic sister, Lottie, two years earlier. The union lasted until 1928, after which Forrest's screen career quickly waned.
