Alma Rayford - Rotten Tomatoes

Alma Rayford

According to one of her leading men, low-budget cowboy star Al Hoxie, silent-screen Western heroine Alma Rayford was one of the best riders in the business. The former beauty contest winner from Oklahoma was also one of the busiest Western leading ladies of the 1920s, appearing opposite the likes of Edmund Cobb, Yakima Canutt, Jack Perrin, Bob Reeves, Buddy Roosevelt, Wally Wales, Buffalo Bill Jr., and a pre-stardom Ken Maynard. She never made it into "Class-A" fare, however, and like most action heroines, left the screen in the early days of sound.
