Ryan played the handyman in Eve and the Handyman (1961).He also acted in Wild Gals of the Naked West (1962) and Finders (1968)... He also worked with Jim McGowan on the short subject, The AmazonTrader (1956) as well as Manhunt in the Jungle (1958). He was a producer, writer and camera operator on Vixen (1968), theproducer and production manager of Cherry, Harry & Raquel! (1970) ; awriter on Up! (1976), an associate producer and writer on Black Snake(1973) and Vixen, and the executive producer of Supervixens (1975). During this time and up until his passing, Ryan owned Modern Photo inHighland Park, Ca. Ryan was born June 17, 1921 in Washington D.C., and moved with hisfamily to Los Angeles, where he attended high school and college andworked at the old Hal Roach Studios. Enlisting in the Army, he trainedas a combat photographer and met Russ Meyer at Camp Crowder. They wereassigned to Gen. George Patton's 3rd Army, and as Signal Corps cameramenthey shot footage still in use by military historians and the Library ofCongress (some of their work appeared in the movie Patton). Ryan spoke French, Spanish, German and Portuguese and his greatestwartime adventure was posing as a Frenchman to liaison with the FrenchResistance and obtain a German map that he was able to bring backthrough enemy lines. He was twice decorated, including the Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jaquelin. His funeral and burial were Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Holy CrossCemetery in Culver City, California.
