Barry Bonds

Lost—by a margin of 22 to two—a vote among his Arizona State baseball teammates on whether he should stay on the team. Holds Major League Baseball records for most home runs in a season (73) and career (762); and most league MVP awards (7). Hit and ran his way into the exclusive 40-40 club in 2002, as the first National League player to record at least 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in one season. He also became the only player to record 500 home runs and 500 stolen bases in a career. He and his father, Bobby Bonds, are the only players in MLB history with five 30 home run/30 stolen bases seasons. Testified before a 2003 federal grand jury after his trainer was indicted and charged with supplying anabolic steroids to athletes. Sentenced to 30 days of house arrest for misleading a grand jury---the result of an eight-year investigation into his 2003 testimony. Starred in the short-lived ESPN reality series, Bonds on Bonds, in 2006.
