Mexican filmmaker Benito Alazraki is an internationally recognized director who is very popular in his home country. He began his film career in the mid-1940's working as a producer and co-writer on Emilio Fernadez's 1947 film Enamorada. Alazraki first garnered the world's attention with his landmark film about the life of Mexican Indians Raices. Since then Alazraki has focused on making melodramas and horror movies. In 1962, he came to Hollywood and under the alias of Carlos Arconti, made The Time and the Touch.
