Billy Gallo was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 7, 1966. At the age of 11, he got his first small part in the Universal Pictures film, Nunzio and was subsequently bit by the acting bug.At the age of 16, Billy began taking drama classes and performing in plays in High School. He eventually attained his goal of studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York, which lead to his first play Neon People, in which he played the lead role, at the prestigious Actor's Studio in New York. He then became involved in the New Family Theatre and performed in several plays there. After winning a couple hundred dollars at a horse race at the age of 18, Billy bought a one-way ticket to Hollywood to pursue his acting career. Within weeks of his arrival, he landed his first guest starring role in the television series The Fall Guy which then snowballed into acting jobs in numerous television shows such as Hill Street Blues, Saint Elsewhere, Murder She Wrote and others. In 1987, he landed the role of series lead in a television series in the then newly created Fox Network. He played "the Booch" in the series Boys will be Boys, opposite Matthew Perry. He then moved on to guest star in over 100 television shows; as series regular on Whose the Boss, recurring characters on Life Goes On, Walker Texas Ranger, NYPD Blue, and Soldier of Fortune. Billy's first leading role in a movie was in the cult classic Night of the Demons. Other films include Pretty Woman, Against the Law, Soldier of Fortune, the 1999 Sundance Film Festival's Fool's Gold and the 2002 New York Film Festival's Kings of Brooklyn, which he produced, co-wrote and plays the lead character "Vince Cuttino". Kings of Brooklyn was nominated for Best Picture and Best Director and won Best Drama and Best Supporting Actor for David Keith in the New York Film Festival. Billy moved back to New York to fulfill his lifelong dream of filming a feature film on the streets he grew up on. He is very proud of King's of Brooklyn being his debut film as a producer and writer and the positive attention it is now receiving. The film recently won best picture in the New York Independent Film Festival and best drama in the Los Angeles Film Festival.Billy is currently developing further projects for film and television, including a docu-drama about magic with his production company, Brooklyn Bridge Films, located in Hollywood, California, where he currently resides.
