German actress, humanitarian and author Christine Neubauer dreamed of being a movie star from a young age. Honing her acting skills on stage at the Munich National Theatre, she went on to study drama at the world-famous Lee Strasberg Institute in New York. German audiences got their first glimpse of her on television series such as the family sitcom "Weissblaue Geschichten." Discovered by director Rainer Wolffhardt in 1986, Neubauer was given the lead role in Wolffhardt's television movie "Der Unfried," which garnered acclaim and led to more prominent work. A part in the 1987 sex comedy "Taxi nach Kairo" followed, and the actress worked steadily in German television for the next decade before winning a co-starring role in the popular 1996 German series "Solange es die Liebe gibt." Throughout the 1990s, she took the lead in dozens of television movies and in 1999 co-starred with celebrated actor Til Schweiger as Lioba in the erotic feature film"The Devil and Ms. D." The new millennium brought roles in the long-running sitcom "Kanal Fatal" and the dramatic series "Die Landärztin," among others. While continuing to reach new heights in her acting career, Neubauer began authoring a series of successful diet books for curvaceous women in 2003. Also active in charitable work, she is an outspoken advocate for Save the Children, Plan International and the Bavarian Red Cross.
