The co-creator of "Mad About You" and "Two Guys and a Girl," Jacobson first became known on Broadway, where he starred in "Grease" as T-Bird Kenickie. Jacobson--who admitted he auditioned for the beloved musical as a goof--then appeared on the soap opera "One Life to Live" and on television commercials. He began writing, his desired career, when he was hired for Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara's five-minute sketch comedy show "Take Five with Stiller and Meara." After a brief stint with the husband-and-wife comedians, Jacobson wrote episodes for the irreverent "Soap" and was a writer/producer on the Pam Dawber sitcom "My Sister Sam." From 1988 to 1990, he was a writer and supervising producer for the hit working class sitcom "Roseanne," starring temperamental comedian Roseanne Barr. It was not a happy experience; Jacobson later compared working on the show to Vietnam. Tranquility and long-term assignments lay ahead. "Mad About You," the heartwarming ode to NYC couplehood starring Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt, premiered in 1992 and ran for seven award-winning seasons. In 1998, the 20-something sitcom "Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place" (the title was soon shortened) debuted, introducing the world to Ryan Reynolds's hunky charms. Jacobson also wrote the script for the 2005 film version of "The Honeymooners."
