Essentially a bit player, onscreen with Universal from 1935, jolly-looking David Oliver played scores of newspapermen, news vendors, cab drivers, etc. Today, he is perhaps best remembered for playing the comedy relief role of the taxi driver, Pidge, in the 1937 serial Secret Agent X-9.
