Ellen Frankenstein
Ellen Frankenstein directs Artchange Inc., a non-profit dedicated to using media, storytelling, and community art to promote dialogue, collaboration, and participation. Frankenstein's latest film, "Cruise Boom" (2024), explores the impact of rapid cruise tourism growth on a small town. She also hosts and manages a live storytelling series called "Sitka Tells Tales" and has been involved in community arts and school-based media projects from South Central Los Angeles to Savoonga, Alaska. Between longer projects, Frankenstein produced an episodic short film series based in her hometown, Sitka, Alaska, called "14 Miles." It is an experiment in short-form storytelling-serious, wry, and curious. The series digs into and uncovers what might be overlooked, even in a remote town with only 14 miles of road from end to end. Frankenstein holds a Master's in Visual Anthropology from the University of Southern California.
