Elmer Ballard - Rotten Tomatoes

Elmer Ballard

A dark-haired stage and vaudeville actor, Elmer Ballard made an impressive screen debut as the wisecracking cab driver Soft Malone in the early talkie Alibi (1929), a role he had previously played on stage at Los Angeles' President Theatre. Despite this encouraging debut, however, Ballard spent the remainder of his career in bit parts.
