Gil Shaham was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Gil Shaham: Violin" (PBS, 1994-95) and "Mostly Mozart Opening Concert" (PBS, 1994-95). He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "Evening at Pops" (PBS, 1969-2002). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Orpheus in the Real World: 26 Musicians -- 26 Conductors" (1996-97), "The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra 60th Anniversary Gala" (PBS, 1996-97) and "To Life! America Celebrates Israel's 50th" (CBS, 1997-98). He also appeared in "A Centennial Toast to Symphony Hall" (PBS, 2001-02) and "Evening at Pops: Keith Lockhart's 10th Anniversary Special" (PBS, 2003-04). Most recently, Shaham appeared in "Live from Lincoln Center: Shaham's Sibelius" (PBS, 2004-05).
