Glenn Withrow was widely known for his acting on the big screen. Early on, Withrow mostly landed roles in various films, including the crime flick "The Lady in Red" (1979) with Pamela Sue Martin, the comedy "The Hollywood Knights" (1980) with Tony Danza and "Rumble Fish" (1983) with Matt Dillon. He also appeared in the period drama "The Outsiders" (1983) with C. Thomas Howell. He had an early role on the television special "Riding For the Pony Express" (CBS, 1980-81). He also was featured in the miniseries "Studs Lonigan" (1978-79). He kept working in film throughout the eighties, starring in the Richard Gere crime picture "The Cotton Club" (1984), the John Candy action movie "Armed and Dangerous" (1986) and the fantastical comedy "Peggy Sue Got Married" (1986) with Kathleen Turner. He also appeared in "The Patriot" (1986) and the Eddie Murphy hit action picture "Beverly Hills Cop II" (1987). He also appeared in the TV special "Sylvan in Paradise" (NBC, 1985-86). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Catherine Mary Stewart adventure "Nightflyers" (1987), "Dudes" (1988) with Jon Cryer and the Bill Paxton comedy "Pass the Ammo" (1988). He held additional roles in television including a part on "Dirty Dozen: The Series" (Fox, 1987-1990). He also was featured in the TV movie "Naked Lie" (CBS, 1988-89). Withrow more recently appeared in "By Dawn's Early Light" (HBO, 1989-1990).
