Jed Johnson learned to make films under his mentor and long-time roommate Andy Warhol. As a member of Warhol's Factory, he helped edit films for the pop artist. In 1976, he directed the cult favorite Andy Warhol's Bad. In the late 1970s, Johnson became an interior designer and opened his own firm. He moved out of Warhol's home in 1980. In July of 1996, Johnson was among the victims when TWA Flight 800 crashed into the Atlantic off the Long Island shore.
