Over the duration of his Hollywood career, Jim Steinman produced music for multiple Hollywood productions. Steinman began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like "Americathon" (1979), "A Small Circle of Friends" (1980) with Brad Davis and the Meat Loaf biopic "Dead Ringer" (1982). His music also appeared in the musical drama "Footloose" (1984) with Kevin Bacon, the action film "Streets of Fire" (1984) with Michael Paré and "Short Circuit 2" (1988). Steinman won an Album Of The Year Grammy Award in 1996. In the nineties and the early 2000s, Steinman's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Liz Callaway animated picture "Anastasia" (1997), "The Mask of Zorro" (1998) and "Black Cat, White Cat" (1999) with Bajram Severdzan. His work was also in "Josie and the Pussycats" (2001) with Rachael Leigh Cook. Steinman's music was also featured in the John Cho comedy "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" (2004), the Adam Sandler box office smash comedy "Click" (2006) and the comedy "Meet Dave" (2008) with Eddie Murphy. His music was also featured in the family adventure "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" (2010) with Zachary Gordon and the Kevin James comedy "The Zookeeper" (2011). Steinman's music was featured in the comedic drama "The Way, Way Back" (2013) with Steve Carell. Jim Steinman died of kidney failure on April 19, 2021. He was 73.
