Brunette and ingenuous, Joan Peers played Helen Morgan's convent-educated daughter in Applause (1929) and was sweet and natural in the sound remakes of two famous silent films: Tol'able David (1930) and Over the Hill (1931). That was about it for this former child actress, who had earlier toured with Guy Bates Post in The Masquerader and appeared as an extra in Mary Pickford's Rosita (1923).
