Joyce Ebert spent the bulk of her distinguished career on-stage and was particularly associated with New Haven's Long Wharf Theater. Born Joyce Ann Womack in Pittsburgh, she took her stage surname from her first husband, actor Michael Ebert. She made her feature film debut in Diary of the Dead (1980) and went on to appear in only two more films. She also made the occasional television appearance. Ebert died of cancer in a Southport, CT, rest home at the age of 64.
