Born in Saigon but raised in the ritzy Southern California area of Orange County, actress and occasional model Kathleen Luong began her Hollywood career with bit roles in features including the ensemble crime comedy 2 Days in the Valley (1996) and the teen-oriented black comedy Dead Man on Campus (1998). She drew upon her ethno-cultural background for supporting turns in two Vietnam-themed pictures: the Patrick Swayze-headlined military drama Green Dragon (2002) and the family drama Missing Brendan (2003), opposite Ed Asner. Luong then essayed a supporting role in the offbeat, low-budget romantic comedy In Search of a Midnight Kiss (2007).
