As a house music producer, DJ, and remixer, Norway's Kygo managed to make a name for himself all around the world in a relatively short time. He was borne Kyrre Gorvell-Dahl in Singapore on September 11, 1991, and he spent his youth globe-trotting with his family, living everywhere from Brazil to Egypt and beyond at various times. He had some formal musical training as a child, but it was when he leaped into electronic music as a teenager that his interest was really piqued. While his first release, the 2013 single "Epsilon," went largely unnoticed, things began to blow up in a big way for Kygo with his remake of Ed Sheeran's contemporaneous "I See Fire." And with his next single, the 2014 smash "Firestone," Kygo became a success on his own terms. Featuring a vocal from Australian singer Conrad Sewell, the song was a smash all over Europe, and became the first of several No. 1 singles for Kygo in Norway. His second Norwegian chart-topper, "Stole the Show," arrived the following year, this one featuring a guest vocal courtesy of American singer Parson James. Kygo finally got around to releasing his first full-length album, Cloud Nine, in 2016. The LP included his previous blockbusters and several more hits, and featured contributions from a wide array of guests, like British singer Tom Odell and American R&B star John Legend. Unsurprisingly the record was huge all over Europe, but it also entered the upper rungs of the album charts in America. The follow-up EP, 2017's Stargazing, didn't fare as well as its predecessor, but it nevertheless boasted another worldwide smash, "It Ain't Me," featuring the vocals of Selena Gomez. Kygo released his second full album, Kids in Love, later that year, with contributions from American band OneRepublic and others.
