Laura Harris is a Canadian-born film and television actress who has appeared in numerous productions shot in her native Vancouver. In 2003 and '04, she played Daisy Adair, one of the leads on the Bryan Fuller-created Showtime series "Dead Like Me," a fantasy comedy about two Seattle-based grim reapers--played by Ellen Muth and Mandy Patinkin--who help escort souls into the afterlife; in '09, Harris had a lead on the sci-fi drama "Defying Gravity" along with Ron Livingston. One of her early lead film roles came in 1997, on Gary Burns's award-winning, Vancouver-shot rogue comedy "Kitchen Party," an irreverent meditation on a classic Canadian teenage ritual: the house party. The following year, Harris starred with Josh Hartnett and Jordana Brewster, along with a large cast of wildcards (including Piper Laurie and, in a rare film role, Jon Stewart), in the successful Robert Rodriguez horror movie "The Faculty." While Harris was likely seen by millions as Marie Warner, the terrorist and sister to main character Kate Warner on Fox's then-ubiquitous action-drama, "24," her best, or at least most intriguing role thus far, has to be her surprise turn as "Girl Klapper," part of Christopher Guest's folk singer ensemble in the '03 mockumentary "A Mighty Wind," which earned Harris and the ensemble a Florida Film Critics Circle Award.

QUOTES FROM Laura Harris CHARACTERS

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: You know in my world Casey, there were limitless oceans as far as the eye could see. Beautiful, huh? Till it started to dry out. So I escaped, came here, and I met you, all of you, and all of you were different from the others. You were lost and lonely, just like me. And I thought that maybe I could give you a taste of my world. A world without anger, without fear, without attitude. Where the underachiever goes home at night to parents who care. The jock can be smart, the ugly duckling beautiful, and the class wuss doesn't have to live in terror. The new girl - well - the new girl she can just fit right in with anybody. People who are just like her. You see Casey, even Mary-Beth's feelings can be hurt by a bunch of pathetic, lost, little outcasts who truly believe that their disaffected lonely life is the only way they can survive. I can make you a part of something so special Casey, so perfect, so fearless. Don't you want that, Casey?

Casey Connor says: I'd rather be afraid!

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: Fine. Alright. Have it your way! 'Cause this is where your land of fiction gets it right: we win. End of story!

Casey Connor says: I say we go for the coach. He turned Stan. He's the one. Or do you want to wait for them to come to us?

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: Either way we're completely unarmed.

Zeke says: Maybe not. I might have some more skat. In my trunk.

Casey Connor says: In your trunk? In your car? Amongst the aliens? Oh, that's convenient!.

Casey Connor says: In your trunk? In your car? Amongst the aliens? Oh, that's convenient!

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: (to a pierced student) - I really love what you've done with your nose-ring, it really brings out the color in your eyes.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: (to a pierced student) I really love what you've done with your nose-ring, it really brings out the color in your eyes.

Stokely 'Stokes' Mitchell says: You know, you were right about me. I don't have any friends and I like it that way. Being lesbian is just my security.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: Security against what?

Stokely 'Stokes' Mitchell says: People like you.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: Complex!

Zeke says: (about sniffing the drugs) - Now, you, Delilah.

Zeke says: (about sniffing the drugs) Now, you, Delilah.

Delilah Profitt says: No...Her first.

Delilah Profitt says: No. Her first.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: I'm allergic.

Delilah Profitt says: Yeah, and I'm Portuguese. Who cares?

Casey Connor says: I say we go for the coach. He turned Stan. He's the one. Or do you want to wait for them to come to us?

Zeke says: Maybe not. I might have some more skat. In my trunk.

Casey Connor says: In your trunk? In your car? Amongst the aliens? Oh, that's convenient.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: I'm pretty alien myself today.

Zeke says: Yeah, my parents are dead too.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: Really?

Zeke says: Well, they are still "breathing", but for all intents and purposes they might as well be dead.

Zeke says: Well, they are still 'breathing', but for all intents and purposes they might as well be dead.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: This is your big secret? Caffeine pills?

Zeke says: You didn't see that.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: What happens at the end of all those stories, Stokely? How does Invasion of the Body Snatchers turn out?

Stokely 'Stokes' Mitchell says: They get us. They win. We lose.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: Maybe we really win; I mean Stan didn't look unhappy.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: Maybe we really win, I mean Stan didn't look unhappy.

Stokely 'Stokes' Mitchell says: That's because that wasn't Stan, they took away who he was.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: Maybe they just bettered who he was. Cleared away his confusion. I know you pride yourself on being the outsider, but aren't you tired of pretending to be something you're not? I know I am.

Zeke says: Answer me something, Marybeth. Why are you naked?

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: Oh. Does it bother you, Zeke, my body? I'm getting kind of used to it myself.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: You just know everything.

Zeke says: I'm a contradiction.

Stokely 'Stokes' Mitchell says: I'm not a lesbian, all right?

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: Be one. Please. Fly free.

Delilah Profitt says: Don't you love the way Stokely accessorizes different shades of black in her ensemble?

Stokely 'Stokes' Mitchell says: F**k you, gutter slut.

Delilah Profitt says: I don't know why you insist...on being such a bad example for your people.

Delilah Profitt says: I don't know why you insist on being such a bad example for your people.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: What people?

Delilah Profitt says: I hope you're not a violent lesbian like your new friend.

Marybeth Louise Hutchinson says: I'm not aware of any lesbianism in my lineage.
