A former Tin Pan Alley "song plugger," Murray Roth entered films as a screenwriter as early as 1920. Working mainly in the field of comedy, Roth later co-wrote the screenplay for Harry Langdon's classic Tramp, Tramp, Tramp (1926) and delivered both story and screenplay for Texas Guinan's Queen of the Night Clubs (1929). He became a director of B-movies after the advent of sound.
