      Korean actor and singer, Park Shin-hye was born on February 18, 1990 in Gwangju. Growing up she was encouraged by a teacher to audition for the Dream Factory, a company that works with promising young musicians and actors. Park secured a spot at the Dream Factory and moved with her family to Seoul in 2001 where she was formally trained in acting, singing and dancing. In 2003 she debuted as the younger version of a lead character in "Stairway to Heaven" (SBS TV, 2003-04), a critically acclaimed television drama. She continued acting in a variety of roles through her teens. Her leading performance in the film "You're Beautiful" (2009) made her enormously popular in both Korea and Japan. She starred in the romantic comedy "Cyrano Agency" (2010) which was a surprise hit considering its low-budget origins. She increased her star power with the teen show "Heartstrings" (MBC TV, 2011), earning a management contract in Japan. Her role in the film "Miracle in Cell No. 7" (2013) earned her Best Supporting Actress at the 33rd Korean Association of Film Critics Awards. In 2014 Park played the leading heroine in the series "Pinocchio" (SBS, 2014-15). Following that financial success she was listed in Forbes magazine's Korea Power Celebrity list. Park starred in "Memories of the Alhambra" (tvN, 2018-19) which proved to be one of the highest rated Korean dramas of the time. In 2021 she portrayed a time-traveling warrior in the thriller television series "Sisyphus: The Myth" (JTBC, 2021).
