Once worked as a hotel desk clerk. Began career as an English-language announcer for a Spanish-language radio station in Chicago. Served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam as a DJ for Armed Forces Radio from 1968 to 1972. Worked as a DJ in Kentucky, then as a weatherman in Nashville and Los Angeles before being picked by Merv Griffin to host Wheel of Fortune. Hosted a late-night talk show on CBS from 1989 to 1990. Won Daytime Emmys for Wheel of Fortune in 1993 and 1997. Received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1994. Founded his own production company, P.A.T. Productions. Hosted the short-lived Pat Sajak Weekend on Fox News in 2003. Supports conservative political causes. Is an avid hockey and baseball fan.
