Peter Noah is best known for his work as a producer and writer for the presidential drama "The West Wing." He joined the series in 2003 and took on the role of executive producer the following year. While Noah seemed to have come out of nowhere, he was in fact a veteran in the world of TV comedy. In 1980, he made his debut as a writer for the game show "The New High Rollers," hosted by a pre-"Jeopardy" Alex Trebek. From those beginnings Noah slowly built up a roster of credits, penning episodes of the sitcoms "The Facts of Life," "Alice," and "Amen." This work culminated in his serving as a main writer for the Judd Hirsch series "Dear John," which ran from 1988 to 1992. After "The West Wing" closed its doors in 2006, Noah went on to launch the short-lived drama series "Cane" which starred one of the main actors from his former show, Jimmy Smits.
