Philippe Agostini - Rotten Tomatoes

Philippe Agostini

French cinematographer Philippe Agostini is among the most highly respected lighting directors in France, distinguished for his dynamic use of black and white film. Agostini began his career as a cameraman's assistant in 1934. During the '40s and '50s he worked with some of his country's greatest directors, including Bresson and Ophüls. In the late 1950s, Agostini became a director, but has never attained as much recognition in that capacity as he did as a cinematographer. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
