Two-time Emmy nominated Humanitas Prize-winning TV producer, R. Scott Gemmill got his start on TV in 1989 as a story editor on "Friday the 13th," a horror adventure series that followed two young antique store owners in their quest to track down cursed relics. Within a year, Gemmill had become a writer on the show and went on to write for a number of TV dramas including "Sweating Bullets," "Side Effects," "JAG," "ER," "Women's Murder Club," "The Unit," and "NCIS: Los Angeles." In 1997, Gemmill earned his first producer credit on "JAG," after having written for the show for two years. His work on "JAG" earned him his first Humanitas Prize nomination in 1999. He went on take producer duties on "ER," "Women's Murder Club," "The Unit," and "NCIS: Los Angeles," and collected the Humanitas Prize award in 2007 for his work on "ER." The Chicago-set hospital drama also earned him Emmy nods in 2000 and 2001.
