Rauw Alejandro is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and producer who has rapidly risen to prominence with his modern Reggaeton sound. Born on January 10, 1993, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Raúl Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz was raised in a musical family. His father was a guitarist and his mother sang backup vocals. Throughout his youth he played soccer and considered playing professionally. When that proved unsuccessful, he turned to music and began publishing songs on digital platforms as early as 2014. This initial foray into music led him to garner a dedicated online following. Rauw's breakthrough moment arrived with the release of his debut single "La Oportunidad" in 2016, which showcased his distinctive blend of reggaeton, Latin pop, and urban rhythms. He caught the attention of Sony Music Latin and they chose him to be a part of the musical project "Los Próximos". In addition to increased fame, Los Próximos introduced Alejandro to other notable artists and opened opportunities for multiple collaborations. In 2017 he released the song "Toda" with Alex Rose. A remixed version of "Toda" was released in 2018 with the music video going viral at over a billion views. He joined forces with Farruko for the song "Fantasías" (2019), which reached No. 12 on the US Latin Chart. Alejandro's critically acclaimed album "Afrodisíaco" debuted in November 2020. He followed it quickly with his sophomore album "Vice Versa" (2021) which featured the popular song "Todo de Ti". His third album "Saturno" (2022) debuted at No. 2 on the Top Latin Album charts and No. 25 on the US Billboard 200, proving his appeal to wider audiences beyond Latin America. On July 7, 2023 Rauw Alejandro released his fourth album "Playa Saturno."
