Reena Dutt was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, raised in Charlotte, North Carolina and Chandler, Arizona. Her father is an engineer and her mother a painter. She trained in the Meisner Technique at the Wiliam Esper Studio in New York City with Terry Knickerbocker (also Sam Rockwell's coach). She has had the honor of working with Albert Brooks, Henry Winkler, Kelsey Grammer, to name a couple, as well as the Brooklyn-born up-and-comer, Peter Pasco. In her free time, she volunteers for the Asian Pacific Women's Center (center for survivors of domestic violence), and the YMCA teen program in conjunction with LA Bridges and Children's Hospital. She is known for cooking in her spare time and experimenting with mango beverages.
