Screenwriter Richard Carr started his career as a teen when he became one of Edgar Bergen's joke writers. He next went to write for various radio shows and later penned Shoes and Soles, one of the first television broadcasts. He spent much of his career writing for television shows ranging from early westerns, through The Waltons during the 1970s. Carr has also written screenplays for four feature-films.
