Robert Child grew up in New England and is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He began his career in television in 1984 in Phoenix, AZ then moved on to Boston and eventually New York in 1992. In New York he worked behind the scenes, as a technical director and director, for more than a decade with network clients including HBO, Comedy Central, MTV and VH1, NBC, ABC and CBS and several others. He began writing and directing independent projects mainly focused on historical subjects in 2001 and has won a number of awards including two CINE Golden Eagles and a Special Jury Award at World Fest Houston. His work has also been named as an Official Selection at major US film festivals including the New York Independent Film Festival and the Washington DC Independent Film Festival.
