American leading man Roger Davis was introduced to TV fans as ranchhand Mike on the 1963 Western Redigo. Davis went on to make recurring appearances on the daytime drama Dark Shadows before being engaged to narrate the opening credit sequence of the prime-time weekly Alias Smith and Jones. When Pete Duel, who played Smith (aka reformed outlaw Hannibal Heyes), committed suicide in December of 1971, Davis stepped into Duel's role, remaining with the series until its cancellation in January of 1973.
